Our natural stone slabs are polyester-coated. Polyester-coated slabs require less maintenance, but must not be exposed to direct sunlight, as this will cause discolouration, which also occurs if hot objects are placed directly on the slab. Granite slabs are recommended because they are hard-wearing due to their material hardness. The polished surface is easy to clean. To maintain the lustre, acidic drinks (e.g. fruit juices) should be wiped away quickly. For commercial use, MDF sub-tops are glued under the natural stone tops, as direct table top dowelling would not withstand the strain. The MDF boards are available at an extra charge.
